Energy and water saving tips for your hot tub and spa.
The hot tub consumes a lot of energy and water, and this is why you need to
be conscientious about energy-saving tips to keep your utility bills low:
1. During summer, set the water temperature to lower than body temperature.
2. During peak hours (get this information from your electricity provider), set
the timer for the temperature to "off".
3. Heat bathing water during the so-called "lean hours" and make sure that your
hot tub is sufficiently insulated to be able to maintain the desired temperature
for several hours even after the heater has been turned off.
4. Turn off the heater when going away on vacation.
5. Keep a schedule for the filtration cycles to keep the water safe and clean.
6. Use properly fitting hot tub covers and make sure that the cover is latched
when the hot tub is not in use to minimize escaping heat.
7. Repair leaks and adjust the jets to your ideal positions to avoid water
waste.
8. To prevent considerable loss of heat, use windbreakers around the hot tub.
9. Always use an energy-efficient hot tub.
